Research has verified that programming is most successful when tied to follow up. GCTC's model of aftercare focuses on the development of an individualized plan for employment and independence. Every youth participates in the development of a transitional plan emphasizing career and career development as the keys to independence. GCTC has job developers that offer support in securing employment and post secondary education for up to a year after the youth leaves GCTC. The job developer offers support services, additional training, and mentoring.
