Parole Services:                                       

The objective and focus of this program is to provide community based supervision to youth from the Texas Youth Commission that have earned release from facilities operated by the Texas Youth Commission or Agencies that contract with Texas Commission to operate Residential facilities.

The target population will consist of any youth, male or female, between the ages of 10 and 21 that have been determined by the Texas Youth Commission to have earned community supervision. Gulf Coast Trades Center will not refuse any youth.  All staff with responsibilities of direct service delivery will meet the minimum requirements laid out by the Texas Youth Commission.

In supervising these youth, GCTC staff will follow all policies and procedures laid out in the Texas Youth Commission. In addition, all staff involved with these services will adhere to the centers Personnel Policies and Procedures.

Gulf Coast Trades Center Community Corrections Officers will conduct home and school visits according to TYC GAP. Gulf Coast Trades Center will develop a rapport with the local juvenile probation department to get their assistance in finding youth and occasionally conducting face to face visits with the youth in the probation office. However, 90 percent of the visits will be conducted in field supervision. The parole locations will not impose an undue travel burden on the youth or the youth's family. The local probation office and/or Chief will be made aware of the progress of the youth on TYC parole in their respective county. Special attention will be given to protect the confidentiality of the youth.
